Riverside Marina Submerged Land Lease Modification, Vero Beach, FL
Coastal Waterways Prepared a “Joint Application for Environmental Resource Permit” for the Riverside Marina to construct an extension of the overwater deck. The deck extension required a modification to the state owned submerged lands. Coastal Waterways completed the application for modification of the Sovereign Submerged Land Lease (SSLL) that included a survey meeting Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) requirements. Separately, enforcement action was initiated by the state due to a violation of the land lease. This enforcement action by the state was successfully addressed by Coastal Waterways while applying for the modification, which resulted in an expansion of the land lease that provided additional berthing area at the marina.

U.S. Coast Guard Approval of Liquid Hazardous Gas (LHG) Facility at Port Canaveral, FL
Seaport Canaveral LLC retained Coastal Waterways to provide consultation and professional services to obtain approval from the US Coast Guard (USCG ) that the proposed butane gas transfer activities meet federal regulations. Coastal Waterways prepared documentation to demonstrate that the proposed liquid hazardous gas (LHG) facility complied with Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) 33§127 associated with the waterways and surrounding land uses. The analysis included identification of land uses and facilities within a 15.5 mile radius and proximity of proposed LHG piping and components to adjacent public and military and commercial uses.

Fuel Pipe Support Piles at North Pier, Port Canaveral, FL
Coastal Waterways Prepared a “Joint Application for Environmental Resource Permit” for Seaport Canaveral, LLC to construct a Pile and Pile Cap System in Port Canaveral to support fuel pipes located over water between the existing North Pier and adjacent existing bulkhead. Under contract with Allen Engineering of Cocoa Beach, Coastal Waterways secured the DEP Permit, modifying the existing DEP MSSW permit for the upland fuel tank farm. Coastal Waterways also coordinated with National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) which provided consultation on potentially affected wildlife, including the right whale. The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) issued a Letter of Permission (LP) completing the permit process and allowing for construction of the fuel pipe support piles.
